Kroos content with slender Bayern success

                                           FC Bayern Munich 1-0 LOSC
The performance was far from vintage from FC Bayern München, but midfielder Toni Kroos was "satisfied" with his side's 1-0 win at LOSC Lille, which left the hosts frustrated.

FC Bayern München may have been far from their recent best at LOSC Lille, but the 1-0 final result was all that mattered to Jupp Heynckes' players as they celebrated doubling their points' tally in UEFA Champions League Group F. "We needed to win," was the assessment of influential midfielder Toni Kroos after Thomas Müller's first-half penalty made the difference, while the hosts were left to reflect on a third consecutive defeat in the section. "It's practically impossible for us to qualify," said LOSC forward Salomon Kalou.

I think that we can be satisfied with our performance, even if that might come as a surprise to some people. Of course, we can play better football, but after our defeat against BATE we needed to win our next game. Today, we battled. Lille played quite a good game, but I think we deserved to win. They put in a lot of tackles, but we managed to control them, scored a goal and deserved to win the game.
Of course, our goal now is to win the home game against LOSC. We won away and now we have two home games – and we want to go clear in the table in those two home games, but it will be difficult in two weeks against Lille.
Jérôme Boateng, Bayern defender
The important thing is that we won the game and kept a clean sheet. It was a hard game and I think Lille played very well, but we kept fighting and we're happy to have won away. It wasn't our intention to sit back after taking the lead, but we didn't play as well as we have done over the last few weeks. Sometimes it's like that, but you have to keep on fighting and we won the game.
It's tough because we're one of three teams with six points. It's important to concentrate on ourselves and not look at the other teams. Now we have a home match against Lille and it'll be important to win.
